1999 Graduating Senior Survey Data Tables:
Gender and Racial/Ethnic Comparisons
in Campus Climate

This document reports survey data on gender and racial/ethnic differences in the respondents' overall assessment of the campus climate at NC State. Survey results for all respondents are provided in "1999 Graduating Senior Survey: All Respondents." For information about the survey and analysis methods, see " 1999 Graduating Senior Survey: Introduction, Methods, and Student Demographic Profile."

Exact wording of question: How would you assess the campus climate for the following groups of students?
Response options ranged from 5="Very Supportive" to 1="Very Discriminatory."

Please Note: On Jan.31, 2001 it was discovered that the column headings "White" and "AfAm" were reversed in this table. Means reported for whites were actually for African Americans, and vice versa. While the downloadable excel file for this document was accurate, if you printed this table directly from the web prior to Jan.31, 2001, the results reported for white and African American respondents were inaccurate. This error has been corrected in the table below.
